VALA Eastside will host an art installation to honor a juried selection of artists participating in this year’s Redmond Arts Festival.  The artists selected to showcase their work as part of Redmond Arts Festival Juried Art Installation at VALA Art Center include: Ashmita Gulati, Einat Barenboim, Heidi White, Hoda Edalati, Maggie Ho, Mike Meyers, MiYoung Margolis and Patricia L. Walker and Meghan Yates.

Festival Featured Artist
Meghan Yates is the featured artist and she will be leading a community art project at the festival called HOPE/Red Thread where attendees can write out their hopes and visions, wrap them around “receptors” and create a living piece of art by collectively connecting the written hopes with red thread. The Hope/Red Thread project is generously sponsored by The Carter on the Park Apartments (www.liveatthecarter.com) which is coming soon to Downtown Redmond.

It’s Redmond’s premier annual arts event featuring 70 artists’ booths, live music on a main stage, wine & beer garden, food trucks, and special installations of art.  The festival is run through a partnership between Redmond Town Center and VALA Eastside, a 501c3 non-profit arts organization. “VALA is excited to co-produce the Redmond Arts Festival and showcase local art from artists near and far, including a family-friendly community art project led by featured artist Meghan Yates,” says VALA Executive Director, Vicki Todd. Artists from all over Washington State come to the festival to present a wide range of fine arts and crafts.
