Geek Out on Local Shopping

November 30, 2020

Shopping locally ensures that nearly 70 cents of every dollar remains right here in our local economy. When you shop small, you help to build a better local economy, reduce environmental impact, put your taxes to good use, create more jobs, receive better customer service, and help keep our Redmond community unique and diverse.

During this recent pandemic, Redmond residents have rallied together to help each other, and now we encourage you to similarly support our local business community–they need your patronage now more than ever. From floral arrangements to seasonal brews, and bookstores to bicycles, Redmond’s small businesses can help add the personal touches that make the holidays welcoming and warm.

Take a break from the kitchen and pair your shopping savors with local flavors. Browse our Shopping and Dining page and filter by “Food & Beverage” to find a new Redmond restaurant to try. Many of our local restaurants are offering curbside pickup and/or home delivery so you can enjoy delicious meals while ensuring adherence to safety guidelines. Or, you can give back while giving the greatest gift of all: Redmond restaurant gift cards!

When the temperatures fall, Redmond’s hometown hotels provide the perfect winter getaway. Curl up with a good book, and wrap yourself in a cozy blanket as you retreat to your home-away-from-home. Relax right here in Redmond.

Give the ultimate gift of experience at the annual Redmond Lights (December 4, 2020 – January 3, 2020). This year’s festivities have been extended to allow for physical distancing and provide extra safety precautions. Redmond’s month-long signature winter event is a celebration of light, art and culture. Follow the lights down Cleveland & 164th by foot or by car, and find your way to Redmond Town Center where the festivities continue with Santa, business window decorating contests, and exclusive Experience Redmond Blinker Stops. Celebrate the magic of the holidays all season long.

Spending a lot of time at home? You can also shop local when decorating your house for the holidays. Visit Redmond’s own Serres Farm and T & L Nursery for trees, plants, flowers, and other decorative delights.

Happy Holidays from all of us at ExperienceRedmond.com, and thank you for your local support.
