Geeking Out On Pumpkins

October 09, 2019

Break out your sweaters, boots and pumpkin recipes. October is a month that has almost everyone Geeking Out, celebrating all the wonderful things the fall season brings to Redmond, Washington. As the temperatures changes, we cover up in cozier clothing, and pumpkin spice finds its way into all kinds of foods. October is chock full of premium picks for the whole family!

If you’re Geeking Out on pumpkins, we encourage you to embrace your obsession by visiting Redmond’s own local pumpkin patch. Strap on your mud boots, and step foot onto Redmond’s Serres Farm. This is a truly special family farm, boasting a wide variety of beautiful and unique pumpkins of all shapes, sizes, and colors. There’s an endless array of activities for the whole family — Get lost in the corn maze, start mooooving on the animal train rideor quack some laughs at the popular duck races. Serres Farm is perfect play area for the pumpkin geek in all of us. Admission is free! Hours of operation:

  • Saturday & Sunday: 9am to 6pm
  • Monday: Closed
  • Tuesday – Friday: 3pm to 6pm

What would the month of October be without the omnipresent fall infused flavors of pumpkin spice? We are all Geeking Out over the Pumpkin Latte at River Trail Roasters. While you’re there, don’t be spooked by the idea of pairing your delicious drink with their Pumpkin Macaroons or Ginger Pumpkin Scones. Yum!

For the true pumpkin Geeks, Paint Away! features a seasonal selection of ceramic pumpkins to paint. Or, if you’re especially brave, you can color a spider web plate, a monster mug, or a zombie splatter platter. Yikes! Redmond’s ceramics painting & glass fusing studio welcomes walk-ins looking to get artsy & crafty. This all-ages activity provides all of the tools and materials you need for your next peek-a-boo paint project. Once you paint it, they glaze and fire it, then you have your own unique piece of creative art to Geek Out over.
