SUMMARY:Shrek Jr.
DESCRIPTION:Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek The Musical JR.\, based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical. It’s a “big bright beautiful world” as everyone’s favorite ogre\, Shrek\, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale\, Shrek JR. is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family. \nOnce upon a time\, in a far away swamp\, there lived an ogre named Shrek. One day\, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad\, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad\, he’s handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona\, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad\, but a fairytale wouldn’t be complete without a few twists and turns along the way. \nWith abundant opportunities for imaginative sets and costumes\, and a host of over-the-top roles for an expandable cast\, there’s a part for everyone in this dazzling adventure story. \nRated G \nClick here to get tickets.

SUMMARY:Trans and Nonbinary Swim
DESCRIPTION:Pride Across the Bridge works hard to provide inclusive and affirming spaces for transgender and nonbinary individuals to come together\, celebrate their identities\, and enjoy the camaraderie and joys of swimming\, that may be taken for granted by many. We know the hurdles many in our trans and nonbinary community face\, and whether it’s body dysphoria or self-conscious body image keeping you from the water\, join your community who understands and live out your aquatic dream! We offer a supportive environment where everyone can feel welcomed and respected\, regardless of their gender identity or expression. Our events are designed to foster a sense of community\, belonging\, and joy\, allowing participants to connect with like-minded individuals\, share experiences\, and build lasting friendships. 🙂\nWe are a volunteer-driven organization committed to promoting the well-being and visibility of the trans and nonbinary community through engaging and accessible events. We operate under a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination\, harassment\, or hate speech based on gender identity\, sexual orientation\, race\, or any other discrimination against your human beings. We ask all participants to respect each other’s pronouns and to contribute to a positive and supportive atmosphere. Privacy and personal boundaries are to be respected at all times.\nAll-ages welcome – attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Kids may be asked to take a swim test (especially if under 14 or needing additional support) \nNo personal photography will be allowed to maintain a safe environment for everyone’s comfort\, unless explicitly notified by event hosts with permission from everyone in the shot. SUMMARY:SRA Row for A Day
DESCRIPTION:Row for a Day (RFAD) is a quick and fun three-hour program to introduce youth (going into grade 8-12) and adults (age 18 and up) to the sport of rowing.\n\nBefore shoving off the dock in eight-person boats to row on the water\, everyone will learn key basics on land. On rowing machines\, participants will learn how to use their legs\, back and arms in proper sequence. Next\, in rowing shells held stationary at the dock by volunteers\, rowers will learn how to get in and out of the boats and how to use an oar.\nOnce the basics are covered\, participants will practice their new skills doing team relays on rowing machines and rowing on our beautiful Lake Sammamish waters. SRA’s coaches and experienced volunteers want everyone to fall in love with rowing\, so rowers can expect lots of help and a great time. \nPlease note that youth and adult Row for a Day participants are usually grouped separately. Parents and kids are welcome to sign up for Row for a Day together but should understand that they likely will not be together for most of the event.
