VALA Eastside Opening Reception: “Self-Portraits in Action: A Youth Art Exhibit”

Venues for Artists in the Local Area (VALA Eastside) and Vibrant Moments Studio present “Self-Portraits in Action: A Youth Art Exhibit”
Join us Saturday, October 25, for an Opening Reception and drop-in “Mini-Me” Collage Workshop—fun for all ages!

In this exhibit, young artists in grades K–8 celebrate self-expression through lively, movement-filled portraits that show who they are and what they love to do—running, creating, and imagining. Visitors can also add to the Reflection Wall, sharing something they love about themselves.

Mini-Me Collage Workshop
When: During the Opening Reception (drop-in)
For: Ages 5–13 (younger with help)
Time: 10–20 minutes
Kids will create colorful mixed-media portraits that reflect their unique energy and interests—a joyful, hands-on way to explore the art of self-expression.

Venues for Artists in the Local Area (VALA Eastside) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization based in Redmond, WA, committed to connecting artists to artists, artists to the community, and the community to art. For the last 14 years, VALA has produced the annual Redmond Arts Festival, a 3-day outdoor arts & crafts fair in Redmond Town Center, which takes place in July on the same weekend as Redmond Derby Days.

About Vibrant Moments
Vibrant Moments is a children’s art studio founded by Viktoriya Leyfman-Frenkel, an artist, art educator, and Redmond Arts & Culture Commissioner. Viktoriya’s teaching encourages joyful exploration of materials, ideas, and self-identity, empowering young artists to tell their stories through color, shape, and movement. Her studio hosts mixed-media art classes and creative community workshops across the Eastside.
