Finding Chinese Classical Poetry and Chinese Painting in My City, Redmond
April 26 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

To celebrate National Poetry Month, Chinese landscape painter and poet Winnie Liu will give an introduction on Chinese painting and Chinese classical poetry. Participants will learn how she matches poems to her paintings, and have the opportunity to try some brushwork techniques and compose their own poetry. Hosted by the Redmond Historical Society.
Registration is not required. This workshop is free and open to everyone.
About the Artist
Winnie Liu YongEr is a Chinese traditional landscape painter, she grew up in Hong Kong and the Philippines, spending most of her adult life in Michigan before moving to Redmond in 2008. It was in Redmond where Winnie accomplished her lifelong goal of publishing her own art book; her first book, FINDING PAINTING IN CHINESE CLASSICAL POETRY, where she translated 35 select classical poems from the Tang, Song, and Yuan dynasties, and matching her paintings to accompany each of the poems. Her second book, DOTS AND LINES, is an instructional how-to book for young adults on Chinese painting.
