SRA Row for A Day
July 25 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Row for a Day (RFAD) is a quick and fun three-hour program to introduce youth (going into grade 8-12) and adults (age 18 and up) to the sport of rowing.
Before shoving off the dock in eight-person boats to row on the water, everyone will learn key basics on land. On rowing machines, participants will learn how to use their legs, back and arms in proper sequence. Next, in rowing shells held stationary at the dock by volunteers, rowers will learn how to get in and out of the boats and how to use an oar.
Once the basics are covered, participants will practice their new skills doing team relays on rowing machines and rowing on our beautiful Lake Sammamish waters. SRA’s coaches and experienced volunteers want everyone to fall in love with rowing, so rowers can expect lots of help and a great time.
Please note that youth and adult Row for a Day participants are usually grouped separately. Parents and kids are welcome to sign up for Row for a Day together but should understand that they likely will not be together for most of the event.
