As we gear up for the 2026 World Cup, the City of Redmond has planned a variety of engaging programs and events for everyone—residents, small business owners, and visitors alike. Whether you’re a die-hard soccer fan or just starting to explore the sport, there’s something here for you.

Events

Redmond is gearing up for the 2026 World Cup with a variety of events and opportunities for the community to get involved:

  • Small Business World Cup Info & Strategy Session – Oct. 8, 2025, 9:30–11:00 a.m., Redmond City Hall Free session for local businesses to learn how to engage with the World Cup, hear from City staff and Seattle Sounders legends Brad Evans and James Riley, and network with other business owners. Light refreshments provided.
  • Fútbol For All Speaker Series: Soccer 101 – Oct. 27, 2025, Redmond Senior & Community Center Kickoff of the community-focused speaker series. Learn about soccer from former Sounder and Ballard FC Head Coach James Riley. This discussion-based event is free, open to all, and does not include physical activity.
  • World Cup Draw Watch Party – Dec. 5, 2025, Archer Hotel, Downtown Redmond Public event to watch the official World Cup draw, marking which teams will play in Seattle. Free admission; breakfast buffet available for purchase. Co-working space provided for attendees who need it.

Share Your Soccer Story!

If soccer has played a role in your life or your connection to Redmond, we’d love to hear your story! Selected submissions will be featured on the City of Redmond’s website and social media, highlighting how the sport brings our community together.

Everyone who submits a story will receive an exclusive “Redmond’s Ready for the World” sticker, and all stories will be part of a digital story quilt celebrating Redmond’s passion for soccer.

From November through July 2026, one story each month will be featured as the Soccer Story of the Month. Winners can record their story on video at City Hall, be featured on City social media, and receive a Redmond’s Ready for the World t-shirt and a soccer ball signed by a Seattle Sounders legend!
