Lighting up Infrastructure
This summer, Overlake Village’s 152nd Avenue will feature 10-foot-tall flower sculptures, the result of a collaboration between the Parks’ Cultural Arts Team, Public Works, and artist Horatio Law as part of the Overlake Neighborhood Plan. Selected from 23 artists, Law led community workshops during the COVID-19 pandemic to co-create the design, transforming eight lamp posts into a community-designed bouquet. Despite some delays, the installation, which fosters community involvement and insight into infrastructure projects, is set to be completed this fall.
